The cost to print something depends on many factors. Generally, more you print the less you pay per item. However, products like posters will seldom have discounts on larger orders. Nevertheless, most prices for printing jobs rely on bulks. The individual prints are often done at home. Exceptions are artistic projects which require a specialised printing equipment.
Printing Prices of Business Cards
The standard sizes of business cards are 87cm by 45cm or 90cm by 52cm. The smaller size is more popular but you do not pay more for the larger version. If you use an online business cards service then you can save a lot of money on bulk orders. 100 business cards cost around $25. 500 business cards will sell for about $45. These are estimates for online operators and your local printer may charge more. You do not pay extra for gloss or matte. Either style will not incur an additional cost of printing business cards.
Printing Prices of Brochures
The costs of printing brochures is higher than that for the business cards. You can expect to pay $60 for 25 brochures. 50 brochures will sell for about $90. Finally, 100 units will sell for $160. Brochures allow for more customisation. The paper quality (i.e. the density of the paper) and the choice of 2 sided prints will all contribute to final printing costs. Most brochures require a paper density of 150gsm. High gloss products may need a paper density of 190gsm.
Digital Printing Prices
The digital print is very popular for quick quality prints. For low volume orders it is a natural choice. For bigger jobs it is cheaper to use conventional printing methods. Nonetheless, digital printers can perform almost any service of the conventional printing machines. For digitally printed A4 sized booklets you will pay around $4 per page for 5 orders and $2 per page for 50 units. 200 or more booklets will further reduce the price to about $1. As usual, better paper density, wide format printing and the elaborated finishes will add more to the printing costs.
Printing Prices of Cards
Personalised cards are a great way to impress your clients. Emailing the greetings is just "ok" but sending custom made cards is brilliant. The costs of printing cards of A7 format (known as mini cards) is about $400 per 250 colour printed units. The larger, A6 format will cost $500 for the same type and the amount. The price of the A5 format is in the vicinity of $650 for 250 cards.
Printing Prices of Flyers and Pamphlets
Both pamphlets and flyers are relatively expensive form of advertising. It is also a disposable marketing product.
Therefore, you should carefully consider the cost of design of the flyers and pamphlets.
The exceptions are expensive services and goods which need advertising flyers to impress (eg. car dealers).
The most popular sizes for flyers and pamphlets is A5 and DL.
These two formats are easy to fold and practical to carry in the pocket.
The A5 flyer printed on both sides costs around $280 for 500 units.
The one-sided version of the same product is $220 (also for 500 pamphlets).
The DL formats are slightly cheaper.
The printing costs for 500 DL sized pamphlets is about $260.
The same product in the one-sided print is about $180.
Printing Prices of Catalogs
The method to print catalogs is similar to that of printing booklets. Thus, the printing costs of the same quality catalogs and booklets will be similar. However, catalogs usually refer to a higher quality product. Many marketing applications require catalogs to be made from 230gsm or higher density papers. This will definitely hurt your budget. The printing price for 500 average quality catalogs (made of 10 pages on the A5 and 150gsm paper density) is $900. The same setup for 2000 catalogs will cost $1100.
