Printing Cards with Online Services

If you order a large number of print cards then it is better to look at online rather than local businesses. For few cards, you will benefit more from the local printer. As with other operators, more you order less you pay per item. There are also options of sizes and number of designs. Now, you are probably thinking of a standard A4 size, which you can fold in half.

However, this size is impractical and commercial cards in shopping centers certainly do not follow this format. A lot of businesses which are printing cards offer A7, A6 and A5 formats. Most of it is in line with the standard card designs. The more specialised businesses also offer plastic coatings, lamination and other goodies. However, these options come with a significant price tag.

Printing Cards Prices

A7 format which often refers as mini cards costs around $400 per 250 colour printed units. This amounts to about $1.6 for each card. The price for A6 format, 250 colour cards is about $500. In this case, you pay $2 per card but the size is about 25% of the A4 page. Finally, the A5 format (half of the A4 format) costs $650 (for 500 cards).

Most, standard supermarket cards are between A5 and A6 formats. The above prices are the rough guide to what you can expect for digitally printed, single designed colour cards. You should use your judgment which format is appropriate. To print Christmas cards, A6 format is perfect but A7 may be satisfactory. The choice should also depend on the actual number of Christmas cards to print. If you print Christmas cards for 50 people then A6 format is economically justified. For large volumes of Christmas cards to print, a neatly designed A7 format should still impress the sendee.
